It is the largest lagoon of the Delta, a vast stretch of water between the mouths of the Po di Gnocca and the Po delle Tolle, the ideal habitat for shellfish such as mussels and clams, which are bred here. Along the road that runs alongside the bay you can closely observe the various phases of aquaculture.

On the other side you can see the huge drained lands, dotted with the ruins of the huts, interrupted here and there by the remaining wetlands, such as the biotope of Val Bonello and the Oasis of Ca 'Mello. It is a beautiful area for cycling, perhaps with frequent stops to enjoy the enchanting and picturesque landscape.

Oasis of Ca’ Mello

The Oasis of Ca’ Mello, located along the Scardovari’s Bay inside the Regional Park of the Po Delta in Veneto, is the witness of a ancient delta, when the old and disappeared Po of Camello flowed through the island of Donzella into the lagoon.

Today you can discover its secrets, along the paths by foot or by bicycle, by observing in silence and listening to the sounds of nature, by fully enjoying the soothing landscapes and by living the rural aspects of the delta territory at 360 degrees.

The area, managed by Veneto Agricoltura in synergy with the Consorzio di Bonifica Delta Po Adige (Drainage Consortium), is also a Rural Animation Centre.
